Our research group, PUBLICARCHITECTURE@POLIMI, had one of is on going work selected by the magazine Abitare for tha Call “Italie da abitare”. It was the project GEOGRAFIE DELL’ABBANDONO, a research focused on mapping the diffused dismission of many BORGHI (small hillside villages and tow).

Partendo dalla proposta di Multiplicity.Lab /DIAP “I Municipi dell’Abitare”, il progetto – con la collaborazione del CeAS – dà una risposta al problema “dell’accoglienza rom” a Milano, attraverso il recupero della cascina Mulino San Gregorio nel Parco Lambro. Il lavoro prende origine dall’iniziativa della Triennale di Milano, “Una casa per tutti”+”La vita nuda”, che ha indagato il problema del disagio abitativo a Millano.

Il progetto di recupero e valorizzazione del borgo medioevale di Civitella del Tronto (TR), formula una proposta generale che può intendersi come applicazione operativa della ricerca ‘Active-actions’: un paese quasi del tutto abbandonato viene rivitalizzato attraverso delle strategie progettuali alla piccola e alla grande scala che si fondano sul presupposto di considerare l’esistente una risorsa e il progetto una attività di negoziazione sostenibile. In questo contesto operativo, a Civitella viene promossa la realizzazione del primo Centro Commerciale Naturale e Sostenibile con l’obiettivo di promuovere un diverso uso del territorio che ne determini come unica conseguenza lo sfruttamento sconsiderato.

Following the Research project delivered at MIUR (Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’Università e della Ricerca). The Research Unit New Museography (Luca Basso Peressut, Gennaro Postiglione, Imma Forino, Mariella Brenna) edited a proposal concerning the question to give answer at the diffused presence of emerging memories (ancient but also modern) both in our daily Urban context and in our Cultural Landscape.

The last 3rd of December, there has been at the Politecnico di Milano – Faculty of Architettura e Società – a conference and an exhibition (03-21 December 2007) on “Atlantik Wall bunkers: possible re-use” discussing if there is any possibility to transform the enormous amount of bunkers lasting along European West coast, from Pirenée to North Cap. and 6000 Km long, disseminated with more than 12.000 buildings representing the largest neglected and unhimelich heritage of EU.
Architects and scholars were invited to present their ideas and their built and un-built works on bunker transformations (following some of the presentations delivered and some more pictures of the exhibition: shots by MV Trovato and J Menzani).

We publish a pdf file [2,11 MB] containing drawings, images and words from the guest lecture held by Prof. Gennaro Postiglione at the first year design lab of Prof. Michele Ugolini at the Facoltà di Architettura Bovisa concerning the House in Planetveien, Oslo designed in the early 50’s by Arne Korsmo for his wife Grete Prytz and himself.
