We just found out that the Stazione di Servizio Agip, the beloved building topic of our 2012 Design Lab, has been officially listed. According to the public authorities – namely the Ministero dei beni e delle attività culturali e del turismo – the building is “of particularly outstanding historical and artistic interest” and will be now subject to safeguard. The official document stating this important judgement features a short bibliography that includes our Lab-int-2012 as a reference.
It goes without saying that we consider this a huge achievenment for the commitment played out by our students in that project.
The work undergone by students deal with the refurbishment of a dismissed Milanese petrol station that was designed and built in the beginning of the 50?s by Mario Bacciocchi. The building represents a very precious heritage for the city and for its owner, Eni S.p.A. As we started to research about the history of the building, and the company, we realized how intriguing this project might become if all the issues around it will be taken into account…
Here is the very last lecture in our lab-int 2012: Wuda* office with Ines Dantas and Florian Wurbaum. The two architects will spend the day with us to contribute at the presenattion critics and help the students to find their path towards the closing of the design studio.

Some pics from one of the most challenging and old rooted design studio class at AHO: for almost 40 years chaired by Sverre Fehn and from 2000 by Per Olav Fjeld. The work shows the reachness of appraches and representation tecniques, but also the plurality of investigations developed by each student to better search within his/her design proposal.
