On Monday 08 NOV at h. 9:30 students will present their own book-draft (download the template) in a PDF format with:
– all the first part (cover, service pages, etc. > see the opening pages of IFW2010 book)
– the index (even now will be almost empty)
– the abstract and the paper you selected
– 4 or 5 images as example about the work you think is matching the requests of the course (read the info written in previouse posts)
> remember that for each images there is the need of a capition (150 words max long) explaining why the images presented is connected with the word/paper you selected.

“Non è un caso che come per Lewerentz, anche per Fehn prima e per Knut Hjeltnes, Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk, Jan Olav Jensen & Børre Skodvin poi, per descrivere l’essenza del loro lavoro si sia ricorsi alla metafora della investigazione della materia e delle regole della “messa-in-opera” quale cifra connotativa. L’imprevedibile e l’inatteso, come paradigma del fare, intesi non nella accezione di ricerca dello stravagante, del pirotecnico, dell’eccentrico, quanto all’opposto della investigazione e della perlustrazione di strade alternative alla regola del mercato o alla consuetudine costruttiva, sono gli atteggiamenti che da soli sono in grado di eliminare tutte le sollecitazioni al riproporre stilemi tanto consolidati quanti vuoti di senso”.
The course will take off participating at the IFW2010 International Conference (www.interiorsforumworld.net) scheduled – as you can read from the website – for 5-6 OCT 2010 at Politecnico di Milano/Faculties of Architecture in Leonardo and Bovisa.
The Participation at the Conference is compulsory for students who wish to register at the Course Interior Architecture 2010.

I bilanci delle università italiane sono stati e saranno colpiti pesantemente: per il 2010 la diminuzione dei fondi rispetto al 2009 è di circa il 4%, ma nel 2011 e 2012 è prevista toccare il 18-19%. Anche si materializzassero i 1000 milioni di euro promessi in alcune dichiarazioni ministeriali, la diminuzione rimarrebbe comunque pesante (intorno al 5%). Dal rapporto OECD Education at a glance 2010 l’Italia risulta trentesima su 33 paesi sviluppati per la percentuale di prodotto interno lordo dedicata all’istruzione universitaria e quindi diventerebbe probabilmente l’ultima della classe.

On Saturady 101002, finally, there has been the presentation of the work produced by the 8 teams (ca. 140 students) and the opening of MIAW2010 exhibition. In front of a room filled as never seen before (more than 250 people attending), MIAW2010 arrived at the last day of workshop. The exhibition, in Spazio Mostre, will last untill 101014.

A tutti gli studneti che intendono seguire il Laboratorio di Interni 2 nella sezione dei proff. Postigline, Bini, Dolce si segnala che sabato 2 e domenica 3 ottobre sarà possibile visitare i depositi storici dell’ATM a MIlano. Poiché il laboratorio si svolgerà proprio su questi luoghi: suggeriamo di approfittare dell’occasione per visitare i siti di progetto e fare un rilievo fotografico.
What should be done with a complex of such enormous proportions as the Atlantikwall (German Atlantic Wall) that stretches from the North Cape all the way to the Bay of Biscay? What meaning should be assigned to this cultural heritage? In which way can and will the Atlantikwall affect spatial planning, both on a regional and national, and on an international level? And last but not least, are there opportunities for use in recreation and tourism?
Gennaro Postiglione has been invited to partecipate as Moderator at one of the three workshops planned within the Atlantic Wall Expert Meeting in Amersfoort and Middelburg on September 2 and 3, 2010. The final speakers of the day presented a demo-version of the web site www.atlantikwallplatform.eu.

MIAW (Milano International Architecture Workshop) è una settimana di Workshop di progettazione promosso dalla Facoltà di Architettura e Società del Politecnico di Milano la cui prima edizione si svolge dal 27 settembre al 2 ottobre 2010 (vale 4 CfU).
Le iscrizioni sono aperte a tutti gli studenti delle Lauree Magistrali e del Terzo anno della Triennale (nuovo!) della Facoltà di Architettura e Società (di tutti corsi di studio) e vanno redatte compilando l’apposito modulo (miaw2010_modulo-iscrizione) da inviare a efisia.cipolloni@polimi.it
La selezione dei partecipanti ammessi al workshop avverrà sorteggiando 120 nominativi tra quanti si saranno registrati.
Il tema dell’edizione MIAW2010 è ‘RE-APPROPRIATION‘: sono stati invitati 8 docenti stranieri a interpretare il tema elaborando un proprio programma per guidare altrettanti gruppi di lavoro composti da 15 studenti ciascuno.

UNPLUGGED ITALY (LetteraVentidue edizioni) is a collection illustrating the works and research of eight young Italian architecture firms who, in spite of the quality of their production, have never been the object of trade publications in Italy. All the selected firms are small companies, led by architects of less than 50 years of age and comprehensively representing Italy’s geographical and cultural landscape: from Studiometrico, Studioazero/Transit and Made Associati in northern Italy to Mduarchitetti and 2A+P/A in central Italy, Fgp St.udio e Sdgr Studio in the southern Campania region, and finally the deep South with Aion in Siracusa.
